While Stripe Rite may be Washington’s leading pavement marketing company, we started out as small business with a few employees and a couple trucks in our fleet. Through the years, we've expanded to five locations across the state—from Bremerton and Sumner to across the mountains in Yakima, Kennewick and Spokane. Since we began in 1984, our employees continue to be our driving force. We're proud to have a number of employees who have been with our company for more than two decades.
If you are a hardworking individual looking for a solid and competitive work environment, there are many benefits to working in the pavement marking industry. But make no mistake—not everyone is cut out to join our team. Applicants must be willing to get their hands dirty and work long hours with a flexible work schedule.
At Stripe Rite, we look for people with experience in pavement marking, signage, seal coating, asphalt repair work, as well as any other labor-heavy industries. Many of our jobs require CDL licenses or the ability to obtain one. Since we offer a wide variety of services, there are many career options for you to consider at our company. While experience can be helpful, it's not required. We take a hands-on approach to training, so you'll be expected to safely learn and develop new skills over time.
Stripe Rite also offers an apprenticeship program administered by the Finishing Trades Northwest, in partnership with Sound Seattle Community College. The apprenticeship is a Washington State-approved four-year program, leading to a journey-level certification as a Traffic Control Striper.
Pavement markings plays one of the most important safety functions on our roads. According to the 2015 Annual Collision Summary by WSDOT, lane departure accounted for 17,763 collisions including running of the road. Pavement markings provide continuous information to drivers indicating their travel path, as well as any restrictions that may come their way.
Stripe Rite’s five locations through Washington allow our employees to make an impact throughout the state. Whether it’s a small parking lot, major roadway, airfield or playground, we can tackle any kind of pavement job. When you work in the pavement marking industry, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you’re providing an important service in the community.
