Working Hard | Construction Appreciation Week 2021

Construction Appreciation Week 2021

The construction industry is a demanding environment. It can be brutal and unforgiving. If there’s one thing that’s true about construction, it’s that you’re going to be working hard. There is no way around it. You are going to be tested physically and mentally every day. The processes of crack filling, seal coating and striping are not simple tasks, in addition to post hole digging and sign installation that require you to break your back to finish the work. There are times when taking a break sounds heavenly. However, by working hard, you can ensure you’re making progress daily and hopefully make tomorrow’s work a little easier.

Construction Appreciation Week – September 13th-17th

Hard work is hard, but it’s also rewarding. The third week of September is dedicated as Construction Appreciation Week. This week is a time to acknowledge and thank the men and women on our construction crews. A little appreciation is a great booster for company morale. Some new Stripe Rite swag is also a great motivator. Our crews were given new baseball caps or beanies, depending on preference, to make the cooler mornings more comfortable.

Treats for hard working crews.

This occasion was not, however, without its puns as well. This year puns included:

  • Goldfish Crackers | You’re O-FISH-ALLY the best employee.
  • Gummy Bears | Work without you would be “UN-BEAR-ABLE!” Thanks for all your hard work.
  • Muffins | Muffin to do but appreciate you!
  • Sunflower Seeds | It “Seeds” to be that you’re awesome!

It’s arriving to the shop as the sun is rising and working till daylight fades. There’s work still to accomplish in exhausting hot temperatures, wicked winds, and terrible air quality. Our construction and traffic control crews have adapted to the changing weather in Washington and keep doing an awesome job. Our success is on the shoulders of those doing the most physical work. The hard work exhibited on the job site, in the sign shops, on the roadway and within the offices is what makes Stripe Rite the leading pavement marking company in Washington for over 35 years.
